The Importance of Regular School Attendance

At Floyd Elementary, we know that consistent school attendance is one of the most important factors in helping students succeed. When students are present every day, they build stronger academic skills, form positive relationships, and stay connected to classroom learning.

To encourage strong attendance, we are excited to offer daily drawings for prizes, opportunities for special field trips, and perfect attendance parties throughout the year. These incentives are designed to celebrate students who are making attendance a priority and showing commitment to their learning.
Please help support your child by ensuring they arrive on time and attend school regularly, unless they are ill. Every day of learning matters, and even a few absences can make it harder for students to keep up with new skills and concepts.

We also want to stress the importance of students attending school on December 18 and 19. These days will include valuable learning activities, end-of-semester assessments, and special events that students won’t want to miss. Your support in ensuring your child is present helps them stay connected, confident, and prepared.

Thank you for partnering with us to make sure your child has the best opportunity to grow and succeed. We appreciate your continued support!

i-Ready Middle of Year Testing Window

The i-Ready Middle of Year (MOY) testing window opens December 1 and closes December 12. Your child’s teacher will send home specific dates and times for testing.
Please encourage your student to do their best on these assessments. You can also ask your child about their middle of the year goals in reading and math to support their growth. Growth reports will be sent home in January.
We can’t wait to celebrate the growth of all Floyd students!
