Vanguard High School Discovery Night — December 9!

For All MISD 8th Grade Students & Families
Your student’s future is full of possibilities, and Vanguard High School is ready to help them explore every one. We invite you and your 8th grader to join us for Discovery Night at Dr. David Vroonland Vanguard High School on Tuesday, December 9, from 5:30–7:30 p.m.

This exciting event gives families an up-close look at the hands-on, real-world learning that makes Vanguard a non-traditional high school option in Mesquite ISD.

Vanguard is a school of choice available to all MISD students who want a non-traditional, career-connected high school experience. Students gain hands-on training, industry-recognized certifications, and opportunities that prepare them for both college and the workforce.

How to Apply to Vanguard High School

All MISD 8th grade students interested in attending Vanguard for the 2026–27 school year must complete the Vanguard Interest Form through their student Skyward account.

5 Simple Steps to Apply
  1. Log in to the Student Skyward Account
  2. Click “Online Forms”
  3. Select the Vanguard Interest Form in the list of available forms.
  4. Select Program Choices
  5. Submit the Form

Need help submitting the form? Click here to view a step-by-step tutorial.

Space is limited. If more students select a program than seats available, MISD will use a matrix to rank applicants using the same admission criteria for all students.

Important Deadline
The Interest Form must be submitted by Friday, December 19.
