🌟 Welcome Back, Floyd Families! 🌟

Welcome to a brand new school year at Floyd Events! We are so excited to have your children back in our classrooms and are looking forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and wonderful memories. 
As we kick off this exciting journey together, we want to keep you 
informed, involved, and connected every step of the way. This newsletter will be sent out at the beginning of each month as our 
way of sharing important updates, upcoming events, and highlights from our school community — because when families and educators 
work together, amazing things happen. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
 

🏠 House Sort

We are thrilled to announce that all 3rd and 4th grade students have 
been sorted into their houses! The House Sort is an exciting tradition that 
builds school spirit, teamwork, and a sense of belonging among our 
students. We can't wait to see the friendly competition and 
camaraderie that unfolds throughout the year — may the best house win! 🎉

Device Insurance Due Friday, Sept. 4th

📱 Parent Reminder: Device Insurance

As a reminder, device insurance through inTouch is required this school year at a cost of $20. 
This insurance helps protect your child's device and ensures they are ready to learn all year long. 
Please review the flyer below for details on how to complete this requirement at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter!

📚 Meet the Teacher Night

We would love to see you at our Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday, September 16th from 5:00 – 6:30 PM! 
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teacher, learn about classroom routines, review 
beginning of the year data, and discuss your child's academic goals for the year. We look forward to 
connecting with you and building a strong partnership to support your child's success!

📖 Little Readers – Early Literacy Program

We are excited to share information about Little Readers, a FREE monthly early literacy program offered in partnership with the Mesquite ISD Library Services Department! Designed for families with children from 
birth to age 5, Little Readers combines stories, songs, hands-on activities, and play-based learning experiences to help young children build early literacy skills and develop a lifelong 
love of reading. Each session is led by a Mesquite ISD librarian in a warm and welcoming elementary 
school library setting.
This program is open to all families, with bilingual support available for Spanish-speaking participants. We hope to see you there!
 

🍽️ Cafeteria Routines & Parent Lunch Visitors

Our students are currently learning cafeteria routines and procedures to ensure a smooth and enjoyable 
lunchtime experience. We appreciate your patience as we get everyone settled into the flow of the school 
day! We are happy to share that parent lunch visitors will begin on October 5th. Stay tuned for more 
details in the October Parent Newsletter!
